Coal Combustion Products
Cutting-Edge solutions for CCP beneficial reuse.
You are here
Coal Combustion Products (CCPs) are the byproducts created from the process of burning coal to create electric power. Coal is a critical component to meeting our nation’s energy needs, and therefore the proper disposal and beneficial reuse of CCPs is an important step towards sustainability. By recycling CCPs instead of sending them directly to landfills, potentially harmful chemicals can be stabilized avoiding further contamination.
Leveraging over 25 years of experience in environmental remediation combined with our unique capacity for processing contaminated dredged material, Clean Earth is equipped to process and beneficially reuse all types of CCPs including fly ash, bottom ash, boiler slag, and flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) materials. We are equipped to handle a wide variety of CCP remediation needs including:
- Pond & Impoundments
- Holding Lagoons
- Fresh Water Reservoirs
- Sludge Drying Systems
- Aeration Basins
- Oxidation Ponds
- Power Plant Waste Support Services
Clean Earth employs cutting-edge recycling methods to beneficially reuse CCPs, including numerous engineered (or ‘Manufactured’) fill products and cementitious grouts that can be recycled for numerous upland applications. Final beneficial reuses have included landfill closure and capping material, alternative grading and/or daily cover material, remediation and redevelopment of contaminated industrial sites (brownfield sites) and the reclamation of abandoned strip mines.
Find out for yourself how you can put our experience to work. Contact Clean Earth today to find out how our expertise in managing the recycling of CCPs can help lower your coal-burning power plant’s by-product disposal costs.
